Hi everyone. I'm just starting out as a solo IT consultant, focusing on help desk processes and ITIL setup for small businesses. I'm looking at Writesonic mainly for creating client proposals, documentation, and some marketing content.

I see the Business plan has features like Brand Voices and higher word counts. For those of you using it solo, is that tier overkill? Specifically, is the Brand Voice feature robust enough to justify the cost for a one-person operation, or would the Pro plan be sufficient? I'm cautious about over-investing at the start.

I manage a small SaaS company's support team, and we've been using Writesonic on the Business plan for about eight months, mainly for help articles and process documentation.

1. **Pro vs Business for solo use** - The Pro plan gives you 100 credits/day, which is plenty for a handful of proposals or documents each day. The Business plan bumps that to 200 credits/day. For a solo consultant, the volume difference is rarely the bottleneck unless you're batch-generating a massive library of content in one sitting.
2. **Brand Voice feature depth** - This is the main differentiator. On Business, Brand Voice trains on up to 250,000 characters of your writing. In practice, it's effective if you feed it clean, consistent samples like past proposals and client emails. For a new solo operation without that existing corpus, you may not get full value immediately. It's a long-term asset.
3. **Real monthly cost jump** - Pro runs about $20/month when billed yearly. Business is roughly $40/month. That's a 2x increase. The question is whether the extra $240/year justifies having a consistent brand tone early on, versus manually tweaking Pro outputs.
4. **Hidden constraint for consultants** - The unlimited projects and folders in Business are nice, but the real limit is the 50 brand voices included. That sounds enormous, but if you tailor a voice per *client* for confidentiality, you could hit that over years. Pro only offers 1 brand voice, which means one master style for all your work.

For starting out, I'd recommend the Pro plan. The Brand Voice feature is solid, but as a new solo consultant, your own writing style is still evolving. Use Pro for six months, build up a repository of your actual client work, then reassess. If you find yourself constantly rewriting outputs to sound more like "you," then upgrade. To make a cleaner call, tell us roughly how many proposals and documents you expect to generate per week, and if you already have a large archive of past writing to train a voice.

Stay curious, stay skeptical.
