Hey everyone, I just started using Udio for my tech tutorials. I needed consistent voiceovers, so I tried the 'Narrator' style to build a library of intro/outro clips.
It worked pretty well for the tone I wanted. But I'm wondering about the long-term cost. I used up my free credits fast. For those using it regularly, is the subscription worth it compared to other services? Also, any tips for keeping the voice tone consistent across different recording sessions? 😅

Yeah, the free credits go quick when you're building a library. I ran the numbers for my own weekly devlog.
For me, the subscription made sense because I was burning through the free tier in about two recording sessions. Compared to something like ElevenLabs, Udio's subscription is cheaper if you only need the core voices and not the full voice cloning suite. But if you need super granular control over tone and pacing, other services might be better.
For consistency, I found writing all my scripts in the same "style" first helped a lot - same sentence structure, formality level. I save a short sample clip of the exact narrator tone I like and replay it before I generate a new batch to get my ear tuned in again. It's not perfect, but it reduces those jarring shifts.
