Hey everyone! I've been tasked with creating some short technical explainer videos for our internal data platform – think "What is a data mesh?" and "Introduction to our new ingestion framework." My boss suggested trying an AI video generation tool, and everyone online seems to be comparing Synthesia and Colossyan.
I have zero experience with this, and honestly, I'm a bit out of my depth. I've watched a bunch of comparison videos, but they're all from a marketing or general business perspective. I need to know how they handle *technical* content.
My main concerns are:
- How do they deal with complex jargon or product names? I tried a Synthesia trial and the AI voice butchered some of our internal tool names, which was a bit awkward.
- I saw Colossyan has "real" avatars, which seems cool, but are they any better at syncing with longer, more nuanced technical scripts?
- Which platform gives you more control over the pacing? A slow, clear explanation is key for our use case.
Has anyone here used either tool for creating software or data engineering explainers? I'd love to hear about your actual workflow – from script to final video. Was the learning curve steep? Any major pitfalls I should avoid?
Any guidance would be massively appreciated! I feel like I'm building a pipeline without knowing SQL sometimes 😅
