Did you see the Trustpilot reviews tanking? What's going on?

Hey folks, just popped over to Synthesia's Trustpilot page after a colleague mentioned it. Yikes. The recent reviews are... not great. A lot of one-star complaints about billing practices, unexpected charges on expired cards, and really poor customer support response times.

This is surprising to me. As someone who lives in the data integration world, I've always seen Synthesia as a solid, API-driven tool for generating video content at scale. The tech itself seems sound. But a tool is only as good as the company behind it, and these reviews point to some serious operational issues—the kind of stuff we data folks hate: lack of transparency and broken processes.

I'm curious if anyone here has had direct experience with their billing or support recently? I was considering recommending them for a project that needs automated video updates synced from our data warehouse (a sort of reverse ETL for video scripts!), but these reviews give me major pause. It feels like the kind of "data quality" issue you can't ignore at the company level.

Are we seeing a company struggling with scale, or is this a blip? Would love to hear the community's take.
