Everyone talks about vendor lock-in, but nobody mentions configuration lock-in. I've spent the last three weeks building out a fairly complex workflow in OpenPipe—dozens of fine-tuned models, specific prompts, routing logic, the whole thing. It represents a real operational process now.
My question isn't about the data. It's about the *workflow itself*. The configurations, the model assignments, the prompt chains. The vendor's UI is fine for clicking around, but I see zero export functionality. Am I missing it, or is the only backup a screenshot gallery?
If the answer is "there isn't one," then we're just renting the logic, not owning it. That's a different TCO calculation. For a platform built on the promise of optimizing LLM costs, it's ironic that the biggest cost might be the rebuild time if anything goes sideways or we need to migrate. Has anyone found a way to version-control or export this stuff, or are we all just trusting the platform's backup?
