Hot take: For coding snippets, it's worse than GitHub Copilot, but okay for comments.

I've been testing Notion AI for a month, specifically for development tasks. The title says it all.

For generating actual code, it's noticeably slower and less accurate than Copilot. It gets syntax wrong more often, especially for niche libraries. Where it's passable is drafting PR descriptions or summarizing ticket requirements into bullet points. It's a decent documentation assistant, but a weak pair programmer.

For the price, I expected more. It feels like a general-purpose tool bolted onto a workspace, not a specialized dev tool. I wouldn't recommend it if coding is your primary use case.
