Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a bit and finally have something to ask about. My team is fully remote and we live in Slack. We've been using a messy combo of Google Docs, scheduled messages, and manual check-ins for onboarding new hires. It's... not great.

I keep hearing about Lindy and how it can automate workflows right inside Slack. The idea of a "Slack-first" onboarding assistant sounds perfect for us. But I'm curious about the *real* experience.

Has anyone here actually set up and run employee onboarding with Lindy? I'm thinking of things like:
* Automatically sending a welcome message and resource links on the new hire's first day.
* Dripping information over the first week (like benefits signup reminders, tool introductions).
* Scheduling check-in meetings with their manager and team lead automatically.
* Collecting feedback or answers to simple FAQs through Slack.

Did it actually feel smooth for the new employee? How much setup time did it take on the backend? Were there any unexpected pitfalls or things that just didn't work well over Slack? I'm also a bit worried it might feel impersonal or spammy if not set up right.

Any insights or "I wish I had known" tips would be so appreciated! I'm convinced we need a better system, but I want to make sure it's actually an improvement.

We actually switched to Lindy for onboarding last quarter after a similar patchwork system. It does handle the automated welcome messages and drip info really well. The Slack channel it creates for each new hire keeps everything in one place.

My biggest tip is to build in some intentional gaps. If you automate every single touchpoint, it can start to feel robotic. We left day two open for just human interaction, no bot messages, and that helped a lot with the impersonal feeling you're worried about.

Setup took me, as the main admin, about two full days to map out the first-week journey and connect all our docs. The pitfall wasn't the tool but our own process - we had to get really clear on what info goes out when. Have you already mapped your ideal onboarding timeline, or are you looking to build that as you go?

Migration is never smooth.
