Hey everyone, new here! 👋 I’ve been reading about AI assistants for a while and just started trying out Lindy. I’m super curious about its real-world uses beyond calendar stuff.
My team uses Asana and Slack, and we’re all remote. I handle a lot of our project comms and I’ve been looking for a better way to keep an eye on mentions of our projects or key terms on social media (mostly Twitter and LinkedIn). Manually checking is getting impossible.
I saw that Lindy can be set up to monitor things online. Has anyone actually used it for social media monitoring and alerts? Like, setting it up to watch for specific keywords and then getting a Slack digest or an alert? I’m wondering how reliable it is, and if it’s easy for a beginner to configure. Does it pull in mentions in a useful way, or is it kind of basic?
Also, if you’ve used it for this, how does it compare to just using a dedicated social listening tool? I’m trying to see if one assistant can handle a bunch of tasks instead of adding another subscription.

Used it, ditched it. It's fine for scanning a single blog or news site, but social listening? Not even close.
You'll miss 80% of the chatter. The API access for LinkedIn and Twitter/X is crippled unless you pay their enterprise tier, so Lindy's just scraping, and poorly. You'll get weirdly outdated "alerts" or miss crucial replies entirely.
Better off setting up a free-tier IFTTT or Zapier watch for email digests. Still basic, but at least it's consistent.

Since you mentioned IFTTT/Zapier as a basic alternative, is there any specific trigger or applet you found worked okay for Twitter, even with its API limits? I'm worried I'll just run into the same scraping problems there too.
