Okay, so I’ve been running some numbers because I kept wondering: if we’re scaling operations, does it make more sense to hire a person or stack a few Lindy agents? I compared the cost of running five different Lindy agents versus bringing on one full-time junior ops person.

For the Lindy side, I priced out five specific use cases we actually need: a meeting summarizer, a content calendar manager, a basic CRM updater, an expense report processor, and a simple social media poster. With their Pro plans, that’s about $50/month per agent, so roughly $250/month total. Maybe a bit more if usage spikes, but let’s call it $3,000 a year.

Now, a junior ops person in my area starts at around $45k salary, plus benefits, taxes, and tools—easily pushing $60k+ all-in. That’s 20x the annual cost! Even if you argue the person can do *more* than five agents, the gap is huge.

But here’s what I’m still chewing on: the human brings judgment, context, and handles unexpected edge cases. The agents are brilliant at their defined tasks but won’t improvise. So is it a pure cost thing, or are we really comparing two different types of capacity? What about the setup and maintenance time for the agents—does that eat into the savings?

Would love to hear if anyone’s done a similar comparison or thinks I’m missing a big piece! 🤔
