**Technical Asset Usability:** This is where the pro plan saved us time. The specialized architecture diagram tools (AWS, Kubernetes icons, database nodes) are well-stocked and consistent. We generate probably 15-20 diagrams a month, and the uniformity is there. It beat our previous process of pasting together mismatched icons from different free packs.
**Consistency for Series:** Good if you use the same "project" and style preset. We built a custom palette matching our internal brand colors and saved it. Once that was set, batch-generating diagrams for a single project was consistent. Starting a new project requires re-setting those parameters, which takes a minute.
**Time Saved vs. Cleanup:** For diagrams, net time saved. For logos, it's a wash. A detailed architecture diagram that used to take a designer 30-45 minutes we can now draft in 5-10, with maybe another 5 for tweaks. A logo still requires about the same amount of manual adjustment in a proper design tool afterward to get it production-ready, so you're only saving on the initial concept sketch.
I'd recommend the pro plan if your primary need is higher-resolution, consistent technical diagrams. If custom logos for internal tools are the main goal, the value is weaker; you'd be better off with a small credit pack on a dedicated logo service or using the free tier and then cleaning up in a free tool like Inkscape.
The "pro" styles are just the free ones with a higher resolution toggle and a few more icons in the library. For internal logos, it's fine. For consistent architecture diagrams? That's where you need to check the per-user cost.
The TCO gets murky if your team grows. Are they charging per editor or per viewer? That hidden detail decides if the "time saved" is actually cheaper than just cleaning up a free-tier export.
