I'm trying to sync our Hailuo contacts to HubSpot, but the default connector in the Hailuo marketplace just fails to sync. The support docs aren't much help.
Has anyone built a custom connector or found a workaround? I'm okay with using something like Make or Zapier in the middle, but I'm not sure where to start with the Hailuo API. Their endpoint structure seems a bit confusing.

I had to build a custom integration for this last quarter, and you're right - their API documentation is poorly structured. The default connector fails primarily on field mapping for custom properties, not authentication.
Start by pulling your Hailuo contact schema via their /v1/contacts/fields endpoint first, before you even touch HubSpot. You'll likely find they've added new custom fields that the old connector doesn't recognize. In my case, there were three non-standard address fields that caused the sync to choke.
For a middle layer, I'd recommend using Make over Zapier for this specific use. Their HTTP module handles Hailuo's unusual pagination better - you need to check the 'next_cursor' parameter in the response headers, not the body. Zapier tended to timeout on larger contact lists.
