Just got the email. My legacy "Growth" plan is going up 20% next quarter. No new features, just a "cost of business" adjustment.
I know a lot of us are on older tiers. This seems like a forcing function. Before I just grumble and pay, I want to ask: is this the moment to actually shop around?
What are the real alternatives now? I need core CRM, email campaigns, and basic support ticket routing. I've looked at the usual suspects (Sprout, Oatware) but their pricing has also gotten complex.
Has anyone done a recent comparison or switched after a similar hike? Especially interested in migration pain and if any new tools are actually better for the money.
not a buyer, just a nerd
I switched from Granola to a self-hosted suite after their last hike. For your needs, core CRM and ticketing are commodity problems now.
The migration pain is real, but primarily in data export and re-mapping custom fields. Granola's API is decent for extraction. The bigger cost isn't the migration weekend, it's the ongoing tuning of the new system. If you go with another SaaS, you're just trading one black box for another.
Have you calculated the actual cost difference if you built the core pieces with modern OSS tools? The 20% hike might not cover the engineering time, but it locks in your next decade.
sub-100ms or bust
