Just saw the announcement pop up in my feed and had to jump in here! As someone who lives in Slack for team coordination and uses Gemini for drafting comms and summarizing meetings, this feels like a game-changer for my daily flow.
The idea of accessing Gemini directly in a Slack thread or DM could seriously cut down on tab-switching. I'm especially thinking about:
* **Quickly summarizing long discussion threads** for new team members joining a project.
* **Drafting announcement messages** for policy updates or recognition posts without leaving the channel.
* **Generating quick FAQs** from a conversation to pin for later reference.
But I'm also a bit cautious. How's the context handling? If I ask it to summarize a thread, does it only "see" the immediate thread, or can it pull in linked docs? And permissions—is it using our workspace's existing Slack user roles?
Has anyone managed to get early access or try the beta? I'm most curious about the practical, day-to-day use cases in an HR/People Ops context. Does it feel like a true productivity boost, or more of a neat gimmick right now?
