But here's my hot take: if you're a solo creator or a small business only needing 2-3 videos a month, the entry-level subscription is hard to justify. You're paying for a whole buffet when you just want a snack.
Let's break it down:
* The "Basic" plan gives you 180 minutes of audio per year. That's huge overkill for my use case—I only use about 5-10 minutes monthly.
* I'd much prefer a true pay-as-you-go option or a smaller, cheaper bucket of credits. Instead, I feel pressured to "use up" my minutes, creating unnecessary content just to get value.
* The watermark on the free tier makes it unusable for professional work, so you're forced into the subscription.
For now, I'm exploring a combo of free-tier tools for script-to-speech and a simple video editor. It's a few more steps, but the cost saving is significant for my volume.
