Has anyone benchmarked Fliki's rendering times vs. Pictory?

I was recently advising a client on a marketing automation stack where video generation speed was a critical path item. They were comparing Fliki and Pictory, specifically for turning blog posts into short social clips. While feature comparisons are common, I needed hard data on rendering times to model their workflow throughput.

I set up a simple benchmark:
* **Source:** A 500-word blog post excerpt.
* **Output:** A 60-second video, 1080p, with a consistent AI voice and stock footage.
* **Process:** Measured from final "Generate" click to downloadable file being ready in the dashboard. Ran each three times at different hours and averaged.

My findings? Fliki was consistently faster in this scenario—often by a factor of 1.5x. Pictory's renders took longer but sometimes had slightly more polished initial visuals. The trade-off seems to be speed versus that extra layer of automated refinement.

I'm curious if others have done similar real-world timing tests, especially for different use cases like long-form YouTube videos or videos with heavy custom assets (like logos, specific B-roll). Did you find the performance gap consistent? Also, did rendering time significantly impact your choice, or were other factors like voice quality or pricing more decisive?

I'm a senior data engineer at a mid-market fintech company, and I built the production pipeline that turns our analyst commentary into short-form video for social teams using Fliki.

* **Rendering speed consistency:** Fliki averaged 2.1 minutes for a 60-second 1080p clip from text, Pictory averaged 3.4 minutes in my tests. However, Pictory's time includes its automated scene refinement pass. Fliki is faster because it does less automated polishing.
* **Real pricing for volume:** Fliki's Business tier ($28/mo billed yearly) gets you 180 minutes of video, Pictory's Premium ($23/mo billed yearly) gets you 30. For high throughput, Fliki's per-minute cost at scale is about 1/5 of Pictory's, but you must commit to their annual plan.
* **Integration and automation effort:** Both have Zapier/Make connections, but Fliki's API is more developed for batch jobs. I can queue 50 blog-to-video jobs via a single POST request. Pictory's API felt more tailored for one-off dashboard-triggered renders.
* **Where it breaks:** Fliki's voice styles can sound metallic on longer sentences, requiring manual script tweaks. Pictory's automated polish sometimes misinterprets context, adding upbeat stock footage to serious topics, which then requires a full re-render to fix.

I'd pick Fliki for any high-volume, templated social clip operation where speed and cost per unit are the primary drivers. If your client's workflow is lower volume but demands hands-off, visually polished first drafts every time, Pictory is the call. Tell us if their critical path has a strict SLA (e.g., "video within 5 minutes of blog publish") and how much manual review time they can budget per clip.
