The Fireflies-Notion integration announcement got my hopes up. As someone who lives in structured data and automated workflows, a deep link between meeting transcripts and a knowledge base should be a game-changer.
But the current implementation feels like a glorified "Copy & Paste" action. It's just a one-way sync of the transcript text into a Notion page. Where's the automation? Where's the structure?
My main issues:
* No automatic parsing of action items, decisions, or owners into Notion database properties.
* No configurable templates for how the transcript is formatted in Notion.
* No two-way sync or linking back to the original meeting context in Fireflies.
* It's a manual trigger per meeting. Where's the automation based on calendar events?
Right now, I could achieve the same result with a sloppy webhook and a curl command. For a platform built on "AI," this integration shows zero intelligence. It's just data movement.
I'm holding out hope this is a v1. They need to expose this as a proper API endpoint so I can build a pipeline that actually processes the transcript and creates structured records. Until then, it's a checkbox feature, not a workflow enhancement.
