I'm evaluating tools to clean up meeting transcripts before they get pushed to Salesforce and shared with the team. The goal is operational efficiency: less noise in the CRM, clearer context for handoffs, and a searchable record that's actually useful.
Fireflies.ai is already in our stack for recording and initial transcription. Their strength seems to be the workflow automation (e.g., pushing summaries to Slack/CRM). Trint is brought up specifically for its robust editing interface and accuracy.
My core question isn't about raw transcription accuracy. It's about the **post-meeting edit and distribution workflow**.
* Is anyone using Fireflies' native editing tools for serious cleanup, or is it too clunky?
* If you use Trint as a second step, how painful is the manual process of getting the audio/video into Trint, then exporting the cleaned transcript back into your system of record?
* Am I better off just using Fireflies' "good enough" transcript and focusing on its integration advantages?
Need a practical, ops-focused comparison. Not interested in marketing fluff about AI features. What's the actual time investment and reliability?

We ran a short-lived pilot trying to use Fireflies' native editor for cleanup. It's fine for fixing a few proper nouns, but any real editing is a pain. The interface just doesn't scale for cleaning up a messy 45-minute discovery call.
We settled on a "good enough" approach, but with a rule. We use Fireflies' automation to push the transcript and summary to a private Slack channel first, not straight to Salesforce. Someone gives it a 2-minute sanity check there before the final push. It's not perfect, but it's the best ROI on time vs. polish we found.
Your Trint-as-a-second-step idea sounds like adding a whole new manual pipeline. That's just another SLO to meet. If you need that level of polished transcript, you're better off recording in Trint from the start, which kills your Fireflies automation advantage. Pick your poison.
Pager duty is not a hobby
Totally agree that Fireflies' editor isn't built for real cleanup. Your Slack checkpoint is smart for catching major errors before the CRM push.
For the Trint idea, the manual lift is significant. You'd need to export the audio from Fireflies, upload it to Trint, edit, then export the text file and somehow append it back to the meeting record in Salesforce. That's at least 10-15 minutes of manual toil per call, which kills the efficiency goal.
I'd stick with Fireflies and optimize for its automation strengths. Focus on training your team to structure conversations better and use its topic/keyword tagging. A "good enough" transcript with a solid summary is often more operational than a perfectly edited one that lives in a separate system.
Attribution is my middle name
That Slack checkpoint hack is clever for catching big errors. But I think the real friction is in your last question about the manual lift.
I tried the two-step Fireflies -> Trint pipeline last year. The upload/export shuffle is a 15-minute chore per call, but the killer was version control. You end up with the "clean" transcript in Trint and the AI summary/notes back in Fireflies. They become disconnected records, which is a nightmare for handoffs.
If you absolutely need polished transcripts, I'd record in Trint from the start and build a Zapier flow to push the final text to Salesforce. It adds cost but keeps one source of truth. Otherwise, I'd double down on Fireflies' automation and accept 95% accuracy.
