Alright, let's cut through the marketing. Everyone claims their AI notetaker is "97% accurate." On what? The weather? I decided to actually test Fireflies.ai on something that matters: sales call objections.

Over the last quarter, I ran it on 100 of my discovery calls. I then compared Fireflies's automated transcript/summary against my own manual notes and a full recording.

**The headline result everyone will quote:**
* Fireflies correctly identified and summarized **85%** of prospect objections.

**The critical result they hope you ignore:**
* My manual review of the same calls caught **95%** of objections.

That missing 10% isn't random noise. It's where the cost hides.

**Where Fireflies consistently missed:**
* **Subtle qualifiers:** A prospect saying, "Your platform *seems* comprehensive, *but*..." often logged as positive statement. The "but" and the objection after it were sometimes smoothed over.
* **Competitor throwaways:** Casual mentions of a competing tool's specific feature were often omitted from the summary, though sometimes present in the full transcript if you search.
* **Sarcasm/hedging:** "Oh, that price is *perfectly reasonable*" (clearly meaning the opposite) was taken at face value as agreement.

**The real ROI calculation isn't about the 85%:**
It's about whether your team can operationally handle reviewing every transcript to catch the 15% miss. If you're using this to replace note-taking entirely for junior reps, that 15% gap is where deals die. If you're using it as a high-quality assistant for seasoned reps who already take good notes, it's a decent efficiency boost.

**Pricing trap watch:**
Their "Unlimited" plan has unlimited transcription *minutes*, but the "Unlimited" AI features? Read the fine print. There's a soft cap on AI Summaries. Hit it, and you're either throttled or looking at a surprise "contact sales" upgrade.

Bottom line: It's a competent scribe, but it's not a sales strategist. If you're buying it to auto-generate battle cards, you'll be disappointed. If you're buying it to ensure no objection is *completely* lost to a rep's poor note-taking, it's passable. Just budget for the manual review time to close that 10% gap.
