Hi everyone. I'm still pretty new to using Fireflies.ai for meeting transcripts at my company, mostly for post-meeting analysis to pull out action items and data requirements.
I've run into a persistent issue that's making me hesitant to rely on it. The search function seems to... miss things? Or maybe I'm using it wrong. For example, in a recent product sync, I *knew* the PM said, "the latency budget for that API call is 200ms." I searched for "200ms" and "latency budget" and got zero results from that meeting. I had to scroll manually and found the quote verbatim about two-thirds of the way through.
This happens often enough that I don't trust search anymore. It feels like it's only matching exact, simple keywords and falls apart with numbers or specific phrases. As someone who builds data pipelines, a broken search feels like a pipeline with a filter that randomly drops rows—it undermines the whole system.
My workflow is basically: review transcript -> search for technical terms or metrics -> compile notes. When search fails, it adds a lot of manual overhead.
Has anyone else experienced this? Are there specific search patterns or syntax that work more reliably? Or is this a known limitation? I'm worried about missing critical details because the tool didn't surface them.
