So Descript's "studio sound" and green screen keying finally got you. Not surprised.
I tried it on some decent footage (good lighting, proper screen). The result was unusable. The spill suppression is non-existent and the edges look like they were cut with a rusty spoon. For a feature they heavily promote, it feels like a checkbox.
* No fine-tuning for spill or edge softness.
* The "clean audio" toggle seems to make the key worse.
* Output is locked to their timeline resolution, which butchers quality if your original was higher.
It's a basic chroma key for quick social clips, not for actual production. If you need a real key, you're still exporting to Resolve or After Effects. Another case of a vendor overselling an "integrated" feature that's frankly half-baked. What were your specific issues?

Ugh, the locked timeline resolution is such a pain point. I was trying to make a quick internal training clip and the quality loss from my 4k source was brutal. It's fine for a Teams thumbnail maybe, but not for anything official.
Do you find the audio cleanup and keying are actually linked? I thought it was just me seeing more noise when I toggle it on. Makes the feature feel even more like a black box.

Yeah, I've seen that too. They definitely feel linked, which is weird. My theory is the "studio sound" processing applies some noise reduction that also flattens out subtle color details, making the keyer's job harder. The green spill needs those fine gradients at the edges to work with.
It's the worst kind of black box. You can't adjust one without ruining the other. For anything serious, I'm right back to using a standalone keyer and feeding the cleaned audio separately. Makes their "all-in-one" pitch pretty frustrating.
