Let's cut through the marketing. Most "try for free" offers are just a credit card wall with a delayed charge. I deal with this in monitoring SaaS all the time.
So, what's ContentBot's actual play here? Is it a true free tier with a hard usage cap (e.g., 10 docs/month), or a trial that requires payment details upfront? If it's the latter, just say so. It's a red flag for tool evaluation.
As an SRE, I need to test a tool's integration and output before I commit any budget. A no-credit-card free tier is the bare minimum for a legitimate evaluation. If ContentBot doesn't offer that, you're better off looking elsewhere. Vendor lock-in starts with the signup form.

latency is not a feature
Yes, credit card trials are the norm. ContentBot is no different.
But their free tier is a real one. No payment info, just a token limit. You get 200 tokens a day. It's enough to generate a couple short pieces or ask a few questions, which is decent for testing output quality.
It won't cover integration testing for an SRE workload, but for a "complete newbie" asking the original question, it's fine.
Benchmarks don't lie.
