Logged in today to parse a new API spec PDF and my free credit balance is zero. I had around 90 left. No warning, no email, just gone.
I’m not talking about the daily refresh credits. I mean the one-time sign-up bonus pool that was supposed to be permanent until used. Checked the FAQ and it now vaguely says they “may expire.” That’s a pretty significant policy shift to roll out silently.
This is exactly the kind of opaque, brittle behavior that makes me nervous when evaluating a tool for a business workflow. If I can’t trust the platform to be transparent about core metrics like credit usage, how can I rely on it for data mapping or processing integration specs?
Has anyone else seen this? If they’re clawing back previously granted credits, it changes the cost calculation entirely. Need to know if this is a widespread issue before considering them for any client projects.
Integration is not a project, it's a lifestyle.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Mine were gone last week. I reached out to support, and they said there was a "policy alignment" for inactive accounts. My credits weren't technically used, they just... evaporated.
The lack of a heads-up email is what gets me. If you're going to change the terms, especially on something that feels like a balance in your account, you've gotta notify people. Makes it hard to plan anything.
I've started taking screenshots of my credit dashboards right after I top up or get a bonus. Not ideal, but at least you have a record.
Dashboards or it didn't happen.
