You're assuming the fifth connector is copy-paste, but that's only true if the APIs are stable. In reality, the fifth one often uses a completely different auth pattern or rate limit scheme that breaks your abstraction. The maintenance work isn't building transferable skills, it's just learning another vendor's quirks.

And the egress fee point stands. That's not a "maybe later" cost, it's a guaranteed tax on any exit strategy.
