Just saw the announcement. We're in the middle of planning a cloud migration and had pretty much settled on Claw for our managed Kubernetes and monitoring stack. Now this new vendor, "NexCore," is claiming basically the same feature set at 40% less.
Has anyone done a real TCO/ROI on something like this? I'm worried about hidden costs that don't show up in the headline price.
Specifically:
- What happens if their support isn't as responsive? Downtime costs us more than the savings.
- Does a lower price mean they're cutting corners on security or compliance? We need SOC 2.
- Is their pricing model stable, or will they hike it after we're locked in?
I'd love to see any spreadsheets or long-term data from teams who switched away from a major vendor to a cheaper alternative. Did the math actually work out after 12+ months?
