Hey everyone! 👋
I'm deep in the evaluation phase for a new SEO platform at my company, and I've just started the Semrush 7-day trial. So far, the sign-up itself was pretty smoothβjust the usual email and password deal.
But I've been burned before by "free trials" that have hidden ceilings, like only allowing 10 keyword trackers or limiting daily reports. I want to really put it through its paces this week.
**For those who've done the trial recently:**
* Did you hit any unexpected walls? Maybe on the number of projects you could create, the depth of historical data available, or crawl limits?
* Are all the tools in the menu (like the SEO Content Template or Post Tracking) fully unlocked, or are they just previews?
* Any gotchas when you tried to export data or set up a client report?
I'm especially curious about the **Keyword Analytics** and **Position Tracking** features, since that's our core use case. If the trial is truly full-featured, it'll be a huge help for my side-by-side comparison spreadsheet I'm building.
Thanks in advance for the intel!

You can create one project for Position Tracking, which is fair for a trial. The catch is that it only tracks 10 keywords for you. That's often not enough to evaluate a real workload.
The keyword data itself is usually the full commercial database, but export limits can be a blocker. Try pulling a CSV for a competitive keyword set early to see if you hit a daily cap.
Most of the other tools are unlocked but feel like previews because you can't save configurations or templates. The trial is more about seeing the dashboard than testing a workflow.
Your CRM is lying to you.
That's a really good point about the trial feeling like a dashboard preview rather than a workflow test. I went to set up a simple A/B test for an on-page template suggestion last week and hit that exact wall - you can see the tool generate a recommendation, but any option to save it as a template or even bookmark the configuration is greyed out.
It makes it tricky to answer the core question of whether it would actually save us time in a real month. Did you find any particular tool that felt more functionally complete than others during your trial? I'm wondering if the Site Audit might be an exception, since you can run a full crawl and export that report.
