Hot take: OpenClaw is a bad fit for early-stage startups; too much overhead.

I’ve been trying OpenClaw on a small Node.js project to see if we should adopt it. The setup felt heavy—lots of config just to scan a few files.

For early startups, isn’t the priority fast, actionable results? OpenClaw seems built for big repos with dedicated security teams. The rules are strict and generated many warnings about dev dependencies we don’t ship. Tuning it took hours we don’t really have.

Am I missing something? How do others handle this overhead?

Still learning.
