I'm trying to get a handle on our AWS costs and compare them to what others are paying, especially as we plan to scale. I see a lot of generic advice, but I need a concrete starting point.
What are the key columns you'd put in a benchmark spreadsheet for something like EC2 or RDS? I'm thinking region, instance type, commitment term (1yr/3yr), and effective hourly rate. Are there other data points I should be tracking to make a useful comparison?
