Anyone else having issues with vendors not sharing benchmarks?

I'm starting to look at some monitoring tools for our new Kubernetes cluster, and I've hit a weird roadblock. Whenever I ask a vendor for pricing or a benchmark against a similar-sized company, they get really vague. They say things like "every deployment is unique" or "we can't share that data."

How are you supposed to know if you're getting a fair deal? 😅

For example, I got a quote for a SaaS monitoring platform. It was just a big annual number with no breakdown. When I asked if this was in line with, say, a 50-node cluster, they wouldn't say. Is this normal? What's the best way to push back or get clearer data?
