We're a small startup (5 people) looking to move away from Jira. It's too heavy for us, and the learning curve for new hires is steep. We've tried Asana and Monday.com demos, but they feel too marketing-focused for our actual workflow.
I want to know about real alternatives. We need:
* Basic dependency tracking
* Simple automations (like moving a task to "review" when marked complete)
* A clear view of who's doing what
* A free or very low-cost tier for our size
What are you all using that actually works for a small technical team? I'm skeptical of tools that promise the moon.
