Hi everyone. I’m relatively new to the community and have been learning a lot here. I’m helping a small team set up email marketing for their niche e-commerce brand. We’re just five people, and our main goal is to directly drive sales through automated flows and campaigns.
We’ve narrowed it down to Mailchimp and Klaviyo, as they seem to be the most recommended. I’ve read the overviews, but I’m hoping for more concrete, practical comparisons from people who have used both. Specifically, for a small team like ours:
* Which platform has proven to have better-performing automated workflows (like abandoned cart or post-purchase) that actually convert in your experience?
* How manageable is the day-to-day creation and segmentation for a team without a dedicated email marketer?
* Were there any hidden complexities or costs that became apparent only after you started using one over the other?
I’m particularly interested in the pitfalls or “gotchas” – what the sales page promised versus the reality of implementation and results. If you’ve switched from one to the other, what was the breaking point?
Any insights on which one genuinely drove more sales for a small-scale operation would be incredibly helpful.
Thanks!
