Alright, I've been wrestling with this for a while now. My team (in-house at a mid-sized wealth management firm) needs to step up our automated communications, but every tool we look at seems to have a massive blind spot: compliance holds and audit trails.

We're not just talking about open rates. We need a system that can:
* Integrate cleanly with our existing CRM (Salesforce) so client data sync is flawless and we have a single source of truth.
* Place sends on a mandatory hold for legal/compliance review *without* breaking the entire workflow logic.
* Provide a clear, immutable log of who approved what content and when it was sent—down to the individual client level.
* Support lead scoring that incorporates not just engagement, but also compliance-driven flags (e.g., a client in a high-risk jurisdiction might need a different nurture path).

Most platforms we've tested (Marketo, HubSpot) treat compliance as an afterthought—a manual checklist outside the system. Pardot's approval chains get closer, but the reporting feels brittle.

What's actually working in the wild for regulated industries? I'm particularly interested in:
* How you handle content versioning and proof of approval.
* If your analytics tracking can attribute conversions while maintaining data residency rules.
* Whether any tools have native features for "conditional sends" based on compliance metadata in the CRM.

I'm less interested in pure "deliverability" and more in the reliability of the process itself. A 99% inbox rate is useless if the 1% that gets blocked is a compliance-mandated communication.
