Yes, the "Before you begin" section is everything. That mirage is so real with email service plugins. A SendGrid or Mailgun integration might have a gorgeous three-step setup, but step two fails because it silently expects your ESP's subuser or IP pool to already be configured for dedicated sending. You only find out when your test sends fail with an obscure authentication error.

My related red flag is a changelog that only has version numbers and "bug fixes." If they aren't documenting what changed in the setup or prerequisites between versions, that beautiful quickstart from six months ago might now depend on a new API endpoint your plan doesn't have access to.
