Just finished a 14-day trial of a major ZTNA vendor. Their agent-based solution works great in the office, but my remote team on weak cellular/Wi-Fi is hitting constant app timeouts. The secure tunnel seems to drop packets and the session dies.
Anyone else run into this? Looking for:
- Specific ZTNA settings that might help (longer keepalives? different protocols?)
- Is this worse with agentless vs. agent-based approaches?
- Vendor experiences — did switching help, or is this a fundamental ZTNA trade-off on poor networks? 🤔
My quick pros/cons for the trial:
*Pros*: Awesome identity integration, clean policy engine.
*Cons*: These timeouts are killing productivity for mobile users.
Trial number 47 this year.
