Hey everyone, I saw the news about a new NIST draft on ZTA patterns and clicked over to look... and wow, it's a lot. I'm still wrapping my head around the basic Zero Trust concepts, honestly.
I've been trying to follow along here because my small e-commerce setup uses a few cloud services and a remote freelancer, and everyone says VPNs are clunky. ZTNA sounds better for that, but the options are overwhelming.
This new draft seems to have these different "patterns" or approaches. Can someone maybe explain what a "pattern" means in this context? Like, is it basically a blueprint for how to set things up? And for someone coming from a simple Shopify-plus-tools background, which pattern might be the most relevant to look into first?
I'm also curious if this will make the vendor comparisons easier or harder. Does a new draft like this mean some products will suddenly be "out of date"? 😅
