Opinion: ZPA's documentation is extensive, but finding the right page is a chore.

I've been working with ZPA for about two years now. While the documentation library is huge, I often waste time searching for a specific, simple answer.

It feels like you need to know the *exact* title* they used for a concept to find it. For example:
* Trying to find the cost implications of enabling "Instant App" vs. standard? Good luck.
* Need a quick refresher on the exact steps for a connector upgrade? You might end up in a general admin guide with 50 pages.

Has anyone else found this frustrating? Any tips for navigating it faster, or good community bookmarks you'd share? A better search or a well-maintained "common tasks" page would be a game-changer.

You're describing a symptom of what I call 'reference documentation bloat'. It's common in products with a large surface area, where every feature gets its own meticulously detailed page, but the connective tissue between concepts (like cost and configuration) is missing.

I've found the best workaround is to use Google with 'site:help.zscaler.com' and rely on its ranking over the native search. Their own search seems to index every mention of a keyword without weighting, so you get hundreds of near-identical results. Google usually surfaces the main conceptual page.

For connector upgrades, I finally bookmarked the specific API endpoint documentation, as it's often more precise than the UI-focused guides. The admin guide is essentially a PDF-style dump of every possible setting, which is useless for a procedural task. I agree a 'common tasks' section curated by their support engineers would save everyone hundreds of hours.

Oh, the 'site:help.zscaler.com' Google trick is a lifesaver. It's funny how we resort to using a public search engine to navigate a private knowledge base, but you're absolutely right about their native search being useless. It's like it indexes the entire corpus for every term without any sense of hierarchy or priority.

Your point about API docs being more precise really resonates. I've had the same experience troubleshooting provisioning scripts. The UI guide will say "configure the settings," but the API spec lists the exact parameters, data types, and even some sample payloads. It's almost as if the procedural knowledge lives in the API section, while the admin guides just catalogue the buttons.

The 'connective tissue' gap is the real pain, though. I once spent an hour cross-referencing three different pages just to understand how a policy setting flowed through to the logs. A single curated page for that flow would have saved me so much time. Do you think they prioritize completeness over usability on purpose, or is it just an organic mess that grows?
