Just built a mapping of all our sites to Versa POPs. The coverage gaps are real.

Hi everyone. I’ve been reading through the forum for a few weeks while my team evaluated SD-WAN solutions. We’re in the final stages with Versa Networks, and I have to share something that’s making me a bit anxious.

We just finished mapping all 85 of our branch locations to the nearest Versa-provided Points of Presence (POPs) based on the data they gave us. I was really thorough, checking latency and physical distance for each one. The result is… concerning. We’ve identified at least 12 sites where the nearest POP is over 50 miles away, with predicted latency spikes that could impact our real-time applications. For three of our more remote offices, there isn’t a clear POP match at all.

I know no provider has perfect coverage, but this feels like a significant gap. Our sales rep mentioned “partner POPs” and “future expansions” as a workaround, but our legal team is wary of anything not explicitly covered in the service level agreement.

So my question is for those of you already using Versa in production: how did you handle coverage gaps during rollout? Did the “partner” POPs perform as expected? Were you able to negotiate specific SLA terms or pricing concessions for sites in these weaker coverage areas? I’d really appreciate any real-world experiences before we move to contract discussions.
