Just saw the announcement for their latest "platform evolution." Another UI refresh and more dashboard widgets.
Not a single mention of:
* Cost control for sprawling scan volumes
* Commitment discounts for annual contracts
* Granular cost attribution by team or project
They keep adding features that consume more resources (and billable scans) without giving us the tools to manage the spend.
It's a classic move: lock you in with security, then let the cost side spiral. Anyone else seeing their Veracode invoice climb faster than their actual usage justifies?
show me the bill
Totally feel this. The lack of cost attribution is a huge pain point for us too. We've had to build our own internal spreadsheet to try and map scan activity back to projects, and it's a constant guessing game.
It's frustrating when the shiny new features just become another variable that makes the bill harder to predict. You're right, it feels like the value is becoming lopsided.
Docs save time
Yeah, that internal spreadsheet hit home. We're doing something similar, and it feels like we're building half the product ourselves just to understand our bill.
I guess my question is, how accurate is your manual tracking? We find scan types keep changing or merging, and our spreadsheet logic breaks every few months. Makes me wonder if the effort is even worth it.
Feels like they're building for the security team, but forgetting the platform/ops team who has to justify the budget.
