Okay, I need to vent a bit and see if I'm the only one experiencing this. I've been using Twingate for about six months now, mostly to manage access for our mobile beta testers. While the core zero-trust concept is solid, I'm hitting a consistent pain point: the admin web console feels surprisingly sluggish compared to just using the CLI.
Here's what I mean:
* Making a simple update to a Resource? There's a noticeable delay between clicking 'Save' and the confirmation, sometimes several seconds. The CLI `twingate resource update` is near-instant.
* Filtering and searching through connectors or user lists in the UI often involves waiting for the page to re-render entirely. The CLI `twingate` commands with `--filter` just spit back the data.
* Bulk operations, like adding a group of testers to a new resource, feel like they happen in slow motion through the dashboard. Scripting it with the CLI is faster and more reliable for me.
I get that a UI needs to be user-friendly and handle more graphical logic, but this latency adds up when you're doing routine admin tasks. For a tool built on speed and seamless access, the management experience shouldn't feel like the bottleneck. It pushes me toward the CLI for efficiency, but that's not a great solution for every team member, especially those less technical.
Has anyone else run into this? I'm wondering if it's a regional thing, a browser issue (I've tried Chrome and Safari), or if the UI is just heavier by design. I'd love to see some performance optimizations here.
