Hi everyone! 👋 I’ve been lurking here for a while, but as someone who lives for a good feature matrix and loves digging into the nitty-gritty of platform capabilities, I figured it was time to jump in. My team is starting our search for a GRC/compliance automation platform, and Sprinto is on our shortlist for an upcoming demo. We're coming from a very manual, spreadsheet-heavy process (I know, I know).

Since I tend to get lost in the weeds comparing every little detail, I wanted to ask the community: **What specific, tactical questions would you ask their sales team that go beyond the standard demo flow?**

I want to move past the high-level "yes, we do that" and into the practical, daily workflow implications. My natural instinct is to prepare a whole spreadsheet, but I'd love your input to make sure I'm covering the right columns. Here’s what I’m thinking so far, framed through my lens of A/B testing and conversion optimization (because old habits die hard!):

* **Onboarding & Change Management:** How is the initial policy mapping and control evidence collection handled? Is there a dedicated customer success resource, or is it purely a DIY setup? I'm thinking about the "user activation" curve here—how long from signed contract to having our first real compliance dashboard?
* **Integration Depth & "Source of Truth":** They list integrations with AWS, GCP, GitHub, etc. But what exactly is being pulled? For example, with GitHub, is it just repo lists, or can it map specific branch protection rules to controls? Can it flag a deviation in near-real-time, or is it a daily digest? This matters for how we'd structure our monitoring.
* **Workflow Flexibility:** In our current email campaign and landing page tests, we iterate fast. If a control needs to be modified or a new framework added, what does that process look like in Sprinto? Is it a configurable workflow we own, or does it require a ticket to their support?
* **Reporting & Analytics Granularity:** Beyond the pretty executive dashboard, can I drill down to see the status of a specific control for a specific cloud service over time? I'd want to track our "compliance health" score like a conversion rate, looking for trends and correlations.
* **The Auditor Experience:** They always mention making audits easier. But concretely—can we generate a filtered, read-only view for an external auditor that only shows evidence for a specific standard (like SOC 2 Type II)? And can we do it with a few clicks?

What am I missing? For those of you who've been through this evaluation, were there any "aha" questions that revealed a deal-maker or deal-breaker? I'm all about reducing friction in processes, so any insights on the day-to-day user experience would be golden.

Happy evaluating!

Love that you're starting with onboarding and change management, that's the whole ballgame right there. The "dedicated CS resource vs. DIY" question is crucial, but I'd push it one step further: ask them to define "dedicated." In my experience, that can mean anything from a single point of contact for your first 90 days to a shared Slack channel with a team that's juggling 50 other clients. Get them to spell out the actual hours of support included in the proposed package and what triggers an extra cost.

And on policy mapping, don't just ask how it's handled. Ask to see a real, anonymized example of the output from another client in a similar industry. The sales deck will show you the pristine, finished state. You want to see the messy middle - the spreadsheet upload template, the error logs from failed imports, the exact comments field on a rejected piece of evidence. That's where you'll feel the daily workflow friction.

Absolutely second the "messy middle" ask. That's where you find out if their API/webhook setup actually works for real-world data syncs.

A specific follow up to > see a real, anonymized example is to ask about their webhook reliability and retry logic. When their system flags a non-conformity, how does that alert reach your other tools? If a webhook fails, what's the retry schedule? The polished demo flow always works. I'd want to see the log structure for a failed call - it tells you a lot about their error handling.

Also, check what endpoints are truly available for pulling that data out yourself. Can you automate evidence collection via their API, or are you stuck in the UI?

Webhooks or bust.

Your focus on onboarding is smart. Since you're moving from spreadsheets, I'd ask them exactly how their system imports that data. Is there a template format, and what happens if a cell is formatted wrong? The sales team will say it's easy, but ask if they can walk you through a single, real-world policy upload during the demo.

Still learning.
