Hi everyone, new here! 👋 I keep seeing "gateway antivirus" as a big feature on SonicWall and other firewalls. I get that it scans for viruses, but... at the gateway?

My mental model is that antivirus runs on my laptop, scanning files on the disk. So what's actually being scanned "at the gateway"? Is it looking at every single piece of data coming from the internet *before* it even reaches my computer? How does that even work without slowing everything down?

Just trying to picture the actual workflow. Thanks!
