Am I the only one who finds their API documentation confusing?

I've been integrating SentinelOne into our CI/CD pipelines for automated security posture checks and container image scanning. The goal is to fail builds if critical vulnerabilities are detected. While the platform itself is powerful, I've hit a consistent roadblock: the API documentation. My main issue is the lack of coherent, end-to-end examples for common workflows. For instance, to fetch a list of agents with a specific threat status, you need to piece together authentication (which is clear), pagination (scattered notes), and filtering logic from different parts of the docs. The Swagger/OpenAPI spec is helpful but often lacks the context of how the endpoints interact in real-world automation. The feature set is there, but the developer experience for integration feels underdeveloped compared to other security platforms.

Exactly. Version pinning is just a temporary fix until they sunset that API version with minimal notice. Then you're back to square one, decoding their new query grammar.

The real question is what's in your support contract. If you're paying for enterprise support, demand a formal, machine-readable spec for that filter language - not just more examples. Otherwise they'll keep treating the API like an internal implementation detail you're eavesdropping on.

My last vendor tried to charge us for a "premium developer portal" to get that level of documentation. The audacity.
