I'm just starting with Secureframe for our SOC 2 prep, and I feel like I'm missing something obvious. I have a single piece of evidence—like our employee onboarding policy—that applies to several different controls. Right now, I'm manually uploading it or linking it separately for each control requirement.
Is there a faster way to do this? I'm worried I'll create a messy, duplicate-filled audit trail. How do you all handle mapping one document to multiple controls efficiently? 😅
I'm mostly working in the Requirements section of the portal if that helps.
You're definitely not missing anything obvious - that workflow is clunky at first! I hit the same wall.
Here's what I do now: When you're in the Requirements section and adding evidence to a control, look for the option to "Link existing evidence" instead of uploading a new file. You can search for your employee onboarding policy there and attach it. Then, when you go to the next control that needs the same doc, you just search and link it again from that central library. It creates one source file with multiple connections, no duplicates.
Saves a ton of time and keeps the audit trail clean. The key is building your evidence library first, then mapping it out.
