Anyone using Versa SASE in a multi-cloud environment?

I’ve been reviewing our options for stitching together AWS, Azure, and a couple of colo sites. The shortlist is down to the usual suspects, but our network team is pushing hard for Versa SASE.

Every vendor claims seamless multi-cloud integration, but I’m skeptical. The marketing decks are useless for understanding real operational friction.

Has anyone actually deployed Versa in a similar multi-cloud environment? I need concrete answers on a few points:

* **Agent performance:** How heavy is the Windows agent really? We have a mix of task workers and developers. Does it play nicely with existing local VPN clients or force a complete rip-out?
* **Policy granularity:** Can you realistically apply different security and access policies based on the cloud resource *and* the user’s location? Or is it just a glorified tunnel with basic rules?
* **API limitations:** For automating deployment and policy changes across clouds, what’s the actual API coverage like? Is it a true API-first design or a web UI with bolted-on endpoints?
* **Breakage on updates:** How often do UI or backend changes in their cloud controller break your existing workflows or automation scripts? This is a major pain point with other platforms.

I’m less interested in the checkbox feature list and more in the day-to-day operational reality. What works, what doesn’t, and what requires constant workarounds?

Good questions, but you're missing the biggest one: the licensing trap. Their "packaged" tiers force you into overbuying features to get the one API endpoint you actually need. Ask them point-blank for the SKU mapping to the specific API calls for multi-cloud policy automation.

On agent performance, it's fine until it isn't. The real issue is the silent backhaul. Your dev's traffic to the colo might take a scenic route through their nearest PoP, adding latency they'll blame on the cloud provider. The agent doesn't give you a clear steering knob to avoid that.

The "silent backhaul" point is exactly what I'm worried about. If my team starts complaining about lag in Zoom calls from our remote offices to the colo, it's going to be a mess to diagnose if the agent is rerouting things.

Can you see this latency in their own dashboard, or do you need to trace it manually every time? That sounds like a lot of extra work.
