Hi everyone, I'm new here and trying to get up to speed on IAM solutions. I work for a small finance firm (about 500 users) and we're finally looking to move away from our basic, on-prem setup to a proper cloud identity platform. The shortlist from our initial research has come down to Ping Identity and OneLogin.
I've been reading reviews and datasheets for both, but honestly, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the feature lists and different terminology. Both seem to handle SSO, MFA, and user provisioning, which are our core needs. But I'm struggling to see the real-world differences that would matter for a regulated business like ours.
Could anyone with experience in the finance sector help me understand the key practical differences? I'm especially curious about:
- How they handle compliance reporting (like for SOX or GDPR) out-of-the-box.
- The real admin experience for day-to-day user lifecycle management.
- Any gotchas with integrating on-prem resources (like some legacy internal apps) alongside cloud apps like Salesforce and Office 365.
- General reliability and support experiences.
We're not a huge team, so something that's manageable without a dedicated 5-person IAM team is a big plus. Any insights to help narrow this down would be incredibly appreciated
