Hi everyone! I'm setting up my first real home lab and I'm a bit stuck choosing between OPNsense and pfSense. My main goals are pretty basic: I want to segment my network into a few VLANs (for servers, IoT, and my regular devices) and set up a VPN so I can access things securely from outside.

I've been learning Docker and a bit of Kubernetes, but networking is still new to me. I hear both are great, but for someone like me who's still getting comfortable with Linux and firewalls, which one would be easier to learn and manage? I'm worried about making things too complex. Any advice from your own experiences would be awesome 😅
