Heard they're rolling out an 'AI-powered' risk module. Color me unimpressed. Every vendor's slapping "AI" on a feature to justify a 30% price bump and a multi-year lock-in.

My immediate questions:
* What's the actual price after the intro year? Is this a separate SKU or a forced bundle?
* Can the AI's findings be audited, or is it a black box that demands blind trust?
* Contractually, who owns the liability if their AI misses a critical risk? Bet the terms shield them completely.

Seen this playbook before. They'll dangle the shiny tech, then bury the real cost and commitment in the renewal. Prove it's more than just a keyword filter with a fancy dashboard.

Check the fine print.

You've hit on the core issue: the audit trail, or lack thereof. I recently pushed a vendor on that exact point. Their "AI" scoring could not explain why a vendor flagged as high-risk had that designation. No data lineage, no confidence scores, just a red flag.

Your liability question is crucial. In my last negotiation, the vendor's terms explicitly disclaimed any liability for "analytical outputs," rendering the module a decorative, non-indemnified feature. It became a non-starter.

Until they provide transparent methodology and assume some accountability, it's a feature checkbox, not a risk control.

Buyer beware, but with a spreadsheet.
