Looking at both for a client (~500 employees). Need to operationalize CCPA and a new B2B data agreement. Main goal is to stop using spreadsheets and manual processes without a 12-month implementation nightmare.
Initial findings:
* **OneTrust:** Feels like you're buying an aircraft carrier. Modules for *everything*. UI is dense. Even their "quick-start" guides are 50+ steps.
* **WireWheel:** More focused on privacy ops and data mapping. Interface is cleaner. Fewer "bells and whistles" out of the box.
Biggest gotcha so far: The data discovery and classification tools.
* OneTrust's can be powerful but requires significant tuning. Out-of-the-box, it tagged our internal HR docs as "credit card info".
* WireWheel's seems more rules-based and less "AI magic," which might actually be better for a lean team.
Question for those who've implemented either at this scale:
Which platform had a faster time-to-value for core privacy compliance? Not looking for every feature, just something that works without a full-time admin.
