Hi everyone! 👋 I’m pretty new to the whole cloud security thing, so please bear with me.

My small team (5 of us) is running a few Kubernetes clusters for our web apps. We’ve been using some basic monitoring, but we know it’s not enough. I keep seeing Lacework mentioned for cloud security. For a team our size—where nobody is a full-time security person—is it actually manageable? I'm worried it'll be too complex for us to set up and use without a dedicated expert.

Would love to hear from anyone in a similar boat. How's the learning curve? Does it play nicely with Kubernetes? Any gotchas we should watch for? Thanks in advance for any tips!

We're a similar sized team and made the switch last year. Honestly, the initial setup for K8s is straightforward - the agent is just a Helm chart. The learning curve isn't terrible because it mostly points at problems instead of making you hunt for them.

The gotcha for us was alert tuning. Out of the box, it can be noisy. Plan to spend an hour or two in the first week adjusting policies to fit your actual cluster activity. After that, it runs quiet.

For your size, I think it's one of the more manageable options. It won't turn you into security experts, but it gives you a clear list of things to fix, which is exactly what we needed.

Automate the boring stuff.
