I've been deep in the Lacework trial for a cloud security posture management (CSPM) and cloud workload protection (CWP) setup. The data correlation is impressive, but the pricing model and complexity for some of our simpler services have the team looking around.
We've obviously looked at **Wiz** and **Palo Alto Prisma Cloud**, but they're in the same heavyweight (and price) category. I'm curious about alternatives that might take a different approach. Our main needs are:
- Good CSPM with clear, actionable alerts (not just noise).
- Kubernetes runtime security.
- Something that can integrate into our existing notification and ticketing workflows (Slack, Jira).
I'm specifically looking at the mid-tier or more focused tools. A few I've seen mentioned but would love real user experiences on:
* **Orca Security** – The side-scanning approach seems clever. How does it handle real-time threat detection compared to an agent-based model?
* **Aqua Security** – Seems very container/K8s focused. Does it hold up on broader cloud resource CSPM?
* **CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security** – Coming from the endpoint world. Is it truly unified, or does it feel like two products?
* **Sysdig Secure** – Again, strong on the container side. I've heard their cloud vision is expanding.
Has anyone moved from Lacework to one of these? I'm particularly interested in:
- The actual "time to value" and setup complexity.
- How you've automated responses or fed data into other systems.
- Any gaps you found compared to the more established platforms.
The ideal would be robust security without needing a dedicated team of 5 just to manage the tool itself.
