Switched from SRX to PA-220 for a small site. Here's why (disappointing).

Had two SRX300s at a small branch. Tired of the "advanced security" license upsell for basic features. Palo Alto PA-220 gave us full threat inspection and URL filtering out of the box, no add-on licenses to haggle over. The SRX felt like a router with a firewall checkbox.

Juniper's licensing model is a bait-and-switch. You pay for the hardware, then you pay again to actually use it. The PA subscription is clear: one price, everything included. Operational cost for the PA was lower after year one, even with the support renewal. The SRX GUI is also sluggish compared to Panorama. Made the switch and won't look back.
